The Wang Experience

Hello!

On the 6th of November, Alexander Wang items became more accessible (in terms of pricing) to us who can't afford a a £266 sweater. Finally we have a chance to get something within our price range. My friend and I braved through the freezing 0 degrees cold at 6am in the morning to catch a train at 630am to Birmingham New Street. We got to H&M in Bullring and I have to say I was quite surprise with the turnout. I was expecting the queue to go up to more than 200 people but to my surprised, we were 80th/81st person there at 730am. Then more people started coming in and we were so glad that we got there earlier!

Around 830, the manager came out of the store and announced that menswear were upstairs and the men just raced their way upstairs! and guess what? there weren't that many girls! the queue was cut into less than half of its original queue. YEAHYERZ!

SO CLOSE!!!!!

So, they gave us wristbands stating our time slot. I think we were the 3rd slot at 935am. My friend and I waited at starbucks for about an hour. At 915am, we went back to h&m and started queuing (again... ) for our time slot. There it was, I saw the black labeling and the words "Alexander Wang x H&M" right in front of my eyes. It was a just a small section in the store, so my friend went around it while I stayed in line. She saw everything that I wanted, the sports bra, the WANG sweater and the perforated pattern dress. That was only at 915! The group at 920 went in. I was hoping for some kind of miracle that no one from that slot would want to buy the sweater. Sadly, when it was our time slot, two of what I wanted was gone. MY HEART IS BROKEN because of this :( :( but that's ok, I got myself the sports bra and a bag for my little sister. My friend got herself a Wang bottle.

I'm sad that I couldn't get the WANG sweater but I am madly in love with what I got. Although the bag is my sister's, I'm just going make it as if'it's my own =P

How was your Wang experience? Did you get anything from the collection?

Music Fridays

HEYYYAAAAA!

Last week, my friends and I watched August Osage County. It stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts. If you haven't seen this movie, go watch it! It's heavy but worth watching (and don't forget the tissues! i guarantee that you will cry. if you don't... are you made of stone? LOL Jokes!) Besides, Meryl Streep is in it. There is no such thing as a bad movie (?/bad performance?) in existence that has her in it! I mean, this woman has been nominated for an academy award 18 times for a reason!

Anyways, when the credits started rolling, this song came on but I didn't recognized that it was last mile home until I got to the chorus and I heard "dreaming on the last mile home" & it hit me! it's an acoustic version & I fell in love with this song even more! I'm gonna stop talking typing and let the song do the "talking"

"maybe i'm the one who's broken, maybe i'm the breaker of the heart."
- last mile home by kings of leon

This post sort of became half a review of a movie and half music fridays. Lolsies! (yes, I am one of those people that say Lolsies.... are we still friends? =P)

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

November Wishlist

Hi There!

November.. November.. How did we get to November already? Isn't that crazy? I swear, it felt as if it was just summer yesterday (okay, that's a long stretch but you get what I mean, yeh?) I am not a fan of the extreme cold (i.e. 12 degrees and below. THAT is already extreme cold weather for me) but I try to look at the positive side of things, with cold weather, I get to layer and I get to wear gorgeous coats!

As you can see below, my first wishlist is a faux fur coat from Zara. The toffee color gives it a chic look while being ridiculously comfy & warm inside. I have tried it on & I'm like "I don't need a blanket now, I shall live and breathe in this coat throughout winter."

My second item is this sleek satchel backpack from Warehouse. I first caught my eye on this sexy thang on I Covet Thee's what's in my backpack video and fell in love. I've always been a handbag kinda-gal but after seeing this and based on the video, there's so much I can carry in this bag, I want it! Unfortunately, it is currently out-of-stock on Asos :( but that's ok, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

Alexander Wang x H&M. This. Is. Life. I have been waiting for this from the moment they announced the collaboration. The collection will be on sale on the 6th of November & I am going to get my hands on this sweater, by hook or by crook!

I don't think I need to explain on why I want this watch by Olivia Burton. Just look at it! The rose gold, the leather strap, the roman numerical indices. Just everything about this watch. LOVE!

Of course, I wanna throw in another camel coat. If you've read my post on winter coats, I posted on a different one. If you're interested, do check out the post here :) This oversized coat from River Island has a I-just-got-this-off-my-boyfriend look, there's something effortless about this coat that will put together any outfit.

Last but not least, chelsea boots from Topshop. When else am I going to wear chelsea boots if not during the fall/winter months? There's a vintage and worn out look with this particular boots. I can wear this with jeans, tights, dresses, anything really and that for me, is a major plus ;)

Winter is coming!

Hello again!

It's almost the end of October and here in the UK, it's getting much colder. Maybe for the locals it's not cold yet in terms of their standards but as a child of the equator region, it's freakin' cold to me right now! Lol. Anyways, with cold season comes coats, jumpers, cardigans and layering! I've been in the UK for about a year in total and nothing excites me more than layering clothes. It's too hot to layer in Malaysia.. so I am going to make full use of it while I'm still here!

The main piece of layering clothes (to me) is the coat. There are tons of coats on sale/discounts available right now! If you're a student in the UK, i'm sure you've heard of Unidays. It's basically an app where you can get student discounts online and in-stores. Ah the perks of being a student ;) I've been seeing lots of shops doing 10% or more discounts right now on coats and knitwears and I'm here to share with you some of the items that I'm loving right now.

Lena Cocoon Coat (missguided.co.uk)

I am loving cocoon coats right now! I've been seeing it everywhere; primark, topshop, etc. I've been thinking of adding more color to my always black wardrobe and this powder blue will be a statement on its own. The cocoon shape makes the coat looks snugly and *insert squeaky voice here* you feel all warm up inside *coughs back to normal voice*. Also, the shape of the coat makes it look as if there's a lot of room for you to layer & it's reasonably priced too! I just have one problem with this coat; I am tiny (standing at 5 ft short), I don't know whether this coat would flatter my body type but hey, thank god for returning policies!

Parka (Zara)

This is for 'em rainy days. I love my wool coats a bit too much to let it be drenched with rain water. Anyways.. Zara can never disappoint. Although Zara is expensive, the quality of their products are top notch. The hood and fur is detachable if you're not feeling the swagness of it (am I the only who thinks fur adds so much swag?)

If I were tall, I would be rockin' this coat like there's no tomorrow. Sadly, I'm not and this coat will just swallow me up :( There's something classic about a grey coat. I love the structure of this particular one, it's too bad that I can't pull this off (why? oh why don't I have long legs?) but fret not, now all I need to do is just find a coat that is similar to this but for petite girls. Let the hunt begin!

Tailored Coat (missguided.co.uk)

I saved the best for last. There's something about this colour that makes it look très chic. Every time I look at this coat, I keep falling more and more in love with the fit and sleekness of it. Out of all of my choices, this is at the top of my list!

I think I'm going to go purchase the camel coat now..

Thanks for dropping by!
