This week has been a bit melancholy. Maybe it's the January blues (classes just started and I'm still on holiday mode). I came across a new band called Aquilo. Their music is nice to listen to while relaxing at the end of the day. I Gave It All's video is heartbreaking but the cinematography is breathtakingly beautiful!
"it's harder now we're breaking, and I should know it's never right for me to say that I wanted this, I know I can't but I can still recall" - i gave it all by aquilo
There's a second part to video, click hereif you want to check it out.
Even on my laziest days, I would make the effort to put on lipstick. I remember when I was little, I would steal my mum's lipsticks and play dress up. It has been a part of my life since I was a little girl, there's a sense of nostalgia to it and it's the one product in my make-up bag that I can never part with (okay, maybe not one product but multiple lipsticks.. hey, you need a lipstick for every occasion!) Lipstick is a pick me up. It adds colour to your face. It gives you confidence. It makes you feel like strutting down that runway street and start your day feeling like a Beyonce!
I've been using Nyx's Antwerp for everyday use. This shade is the prettiest pink that flatters everyone! Believe me, if you don't have Antwerp, go purchase it now!! I love using Rimmel's Big Band for a night out. I've tried a fair amount of red lipsticks/lipglosses but this one makes me feel confident and you know, getting ma Beyonce on (Lol!) and lastly, Topshop's Role Model when I'm feeling a little daring. I was afraid of purple until I found this particular shade that I am madly in love with, it was my go-to colour throughout December, such a lovely wintery shade.
Who else do I plagiarise if not Alexa Chung when it comes to eyeliner? My uni will not be pleased with this. Lol. Moving on, Alexa Chung, to me, has perfected the cat eye look that was donned by the effortless beauty Brigitte Bardot. I personally love the cat eye look and has made it a part of my daily routine. If I could get a sticker that could give me the perfect cat eye, I would run straight to the stores and scream "GIVE IT TO ME NOW!" (you know sometimes you just have one of those days and you can't give a shit about doing your make-up, that cat eye sticker would totes come in handy!)
I begin with putting on a bit of concealer on my eyelids as a base and to cover up any redness. Then, I take my eyeliner and I like to start from the outer corners of eyes and work my way in. I sort of angle my eyeliner to create a flick (I follow the bottom line of eyes and use that as a guide to create the flick) Once I have the flick, I'll draw a line from the outer corner of my eyes to the inner corner of my eyes. VoilĂ , you're cat-eye ready.
Eyeko's collaboration with Alexa Chung. How adorbs is the packaging?
Here's a tutorial from Alexa Chung herself to get the make-up look,
Happy New Year! Welcome 2015! Wow. I cannot believe that 2015 has arrived! 2014 flew by quickly, too quickly I think. As I get older, I feel as if every single year fly by too fast. I can't get a hold of my days and it just slips right through my fingers. I don't like it. I miss being a child and time was flying by slowly and I could seize each moment of every day. Now, with all the bustling and the hustling, every thing is moving too quickly. Can't time stop or slow down for a second? What a sappy way to start this post. Enough of that! Let's welcome 2015 with open arms. People are always on about new year's resolution at the beginning of the new year but lesbehonest (high five to those who got the pitch perfect reference) with ourselves, do we actually do any of it as the year progress? Every year I would create a new list of what my resolutions are for the year and I've never actually fulfilled any of it. Never came around to it or I just forgot =P So for 2014, I decided not to create a list but to have one goal and one goal only and that goal is...
